MINOT, ND (KXNET) — October is National Bullying Prevention Month, and local leaders throughout North Dakota are teaming up to raise awareness about what your kids may be going through on a daily basis.

Parents Lead, a group led by North Dakota Health and Human Services, is taking the month to share the values of kindness, connection and respect. The group says that one out of every five kids in the state are bullied, with a significant amount of the bullying coming from social media.

Health and Human Services is also taking this time to introduce new resources to help adults understand what these kids are going through.
