YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - A one-night-only performance based on the life and death of a Poland High School graduate will make its premiere this weekend at Power's Auditorium.

"Amanda: She Didn't Mean To Die" is based on the life of Amanda Marie McAuley of Poland, who passed away in 2023 of a fentanyl overdose.

This performance is based on Amanda’s life, journey, and her tragic passing, and was created by Donna McAuley, Amanda's mother. The show is a passion project for McAuley to not only depict her daughter's life with dignity and love, but to heighten awareness of the deadly dangers of fentanyl.

The performance focuses on Amanda's youth, teenage years, and into her adulthood.
