A lottery player who bought a ticket in Woodruff, South Carolina, is the state's newest millionaire.
The Upstate winner won $2.5 million playing the Magnificent Jumbo Bucks scratch-off and declined to release their name.
Lottery officials can say the winner was lucky enough to overcome the 1 in 1.72 million odds to win $2.5 million off the $20 ticket purchased a t Nick’s Mart on North Main Street in Woodruff.
Three more $2.5 million prizes remain in the Magnificent Jumbo Bucks game.
Nick’s Mart received a commission of $25,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
