Score Round 1 of the Ontario Hockey League’s annual Canine Cup dogfight between the Brantford Bulldogs and the Niagara IceDogs as a unanimous decision for Brantford.

With nine National Hockey League prospects in their corner — the IceDogs stepped into the ring with three — the Bulldogs are second only to the Windsor Spitfires in the OHL power rankings and third to the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League in the Canadian Hockey League’s top 10.

In comparison, Niagara, which lost back-to-back games for the first time this season, began the week sixth in the OHL rankings, down three spots.
