BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) -- Cedar Ridge Elementary School is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a parade, highlighting its multi-lingual and culturally diverse school community.
"Today, we got an opportunity to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by doing a parade with our families and students," said Christina Mables, principal of Cedar Ridge.
"Our students and staff, everyone in the building, whether they are a part of the Hispanic culture or not, were invited to decorate flags, choose the country that they wanted to learn more about, and then put those up in the building, but also create flags that they could use to celebrate, to walk around in the parade."
Parents and family members alike were invited to celebrate with the kids, with the school providing food for the celebration
