It has been a rather warm October in Arkansas so far. (I know... yuck!) Above average temperatures are expected to hang around for at leas the next seven days.

To find out when “hoodie season” really begins, I took a look back at Little Rock weather data from 2000 through 2024 using what most people consider hoodie weather: a day with a high of 67°F or below and a low of 55°F or below. That range came from the average answer when I asked a group of people what temperature feels just right for a hoodie day.

Based on those thresholds, Arkansas typically sees its first official hoodie day around October 16. Some years arrive early, like October 1, 2003 when temperatures reached an overnight low of 47 and daytime high of 67. Other years have made us wait, like on November 5, 2016. On average
