CHARMCO, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Class AA No. 12 James Monroe Mavericks delivered a commanding 42-7 road victory Friday night over the Class A No. 16 Greenbrier West Cavaliers.

The Mavericks set the tone early with a powerful offensive showing and a stout defensive effort that kept the Cavaliers from gaining traction.

With the win, James Monroe improves to 5-1 on the season and continues to climb in the Class AA rankings.

Greenbrier West, now 2-5, struggled to contain James Monroe’s balanced attack and fell behind quickly in the first half.

The Mavericks will return home to host the Midland Trail Patriots, while the Cavaliers will look to rebound when they host the Montcalm Generals.
