ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A union representing teachers and other public school employees wants to change state law to help prevent the rapid turnover of DeKalb County superintendents.

In a letter to state lawmakers, the Georgia Federation of Teachers said DCSD has gone through four superintendents in six years.

On Friday, the school district swore in Dr. Norman C. Sauce III as interim superintendent.

The day before, the school board placed the current superintendent, Dr. Devon Horton, on paid leave following a federal indictment accusing him of fraud and receiving kickbacks during his previous job in Chicago.
