ORANGE, Ohio -- Former councilwoman Amanda Kurland has been longing to return to Village Council ever since her term ended almost two years ago.

Kurland ran unsuccessfully against Judson Kline for mayor in the 2023 election. She had been appointed to a vacancy on council in 2021 and her term expired at the end of 2023.

She was one of nine applicants for the council seat vacated by Kline’s election to mayor that ended up going to Councilman Jeffrey Foster.

Now, Kurland has a golden opportunity to regain a seat on council.

She is one of four candidates on the ballot for four open seats, plus one write-in candidate, in the Nov. 4 election.

“I’m looking to once again serve the community on Village Council,” Kurland said at a Meet the Candidates forum Thursday (Oct. 9) at Village Hall.
