A South West town known for its hippie vibes and that once welcomed van dwellers is now overrun with 300 of them - and the local MP wants a change in the law.

Glastonbury, a Somerset town known for its alternative lifestyle and world-renowned festival, is grappling with an 'unprecedented' influx of van dwellers. The town, which has long been a sanctuary for the traveller community, now has more van dwellers per capita than any other place in the UK.

However, locals say they have reached 'saturation point', according to the local Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Dyke.

Dyke is calling for an 'urgent' change in legislation to manage the surge in arrivals as tensions within the community escalate.
