The North Carolina coast, especially the Outer Banks, faces another significant threat this weekend.
Throughout the weekend and into Monday, a nor'easter will bring high surf, coastal flooding between two to four feet and wind gusts up to 40 mph on our coast. Gusts will be even stronger along the Outer Banks.

While this likely won't be a named storm, it will behave very similarly to tropical systems. The only difference between a nor'easter and a tropical system is the structure of their core. A nor'easter has a cold core, while a tropical system has a warm core. That's it.
