MADISON, Wis. -- A fire at a vacant home just blocks away from Capitol Square is under investigation, the Madison Fire Department said.

The fire at 123 North Butler Street was reported at around 11:30 p.m. Friday. Heavy flames could be seen coming from the roof when firefighters arrived.

Multiple MFD companies were brought in to put out the fire and protect two nearby homes. After the fire was brought under control, all three homes were searched and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
