The news on Hampus Lindholm remained relatively optimistic on Saturday morning. The big defenseman did not skate but coach Marco Sturm said that he was out day-to-day with the unspecified lower body injury he suffered in the first period of Thursday’s home opener against Chicago.

Sturm said he expects Lindholm to return to the ice on Sunday and then they’ll go from there. After the game, Sturm said the injury is not related to the broken kneecap he suffered on last November 12 that kept Lindholm out for 65 games.

With Lindholm out of the lineup for Saturday’s game at the Garden against the Buffalo Sabres, Haverhill native and Northeastern product Jordan Harris drew in for his first game as a Bruin, taking Lindholm’s spot next to Andrew Peeke.
