Erling Haaland had a major moment to forget during Norway's crunch World Cup qualifier against Israel on Saturday.

The Manchester City striker was captaining his nation as they looked to extend their lead at the top of their qualifying group.

And it appeared as if they'd be making the perfect start to the tie in Oslo, as Patrick Berg won a penalty after just three minutes.

Haaland , of course, stepped up to take the spot-kick, having scored 52 of the previous 60 he had taken for club and country.

However, Norway 's all-time top goalscorer saw his penalty saved by Israel goalkeeper Daniel Peretz.

It was a rare miss from the spot for Haaland, but his blushes were instantly spared by Peretz's error.
