Steven Gerrard has pulled out of talks to become the new Rangers manager, talkSPORT understands.

The Liverpool icon appeared to be closing in on returning to Ibrox after a successful previous spell at the club.
However, he is understood to have been doubtful that this is the correct time to take the job, despite positive talks.
And that meant he decided to step away from Rangers ' process of finding a new manager following Martin's departure .
A full agreement was almost reached for him to take over the role.
Gerrard remains open to returning to the Gers in the future, howe
