OLYMPIA, Wash. — Governor Bob Ferguson is ordering all state agencies to lower flags on Wednesday in memory of Colleen Bass, who was killed in the Eastern State Hospital shooting.
Bass was shot in the early hours of the morning on Saturday, Sept. 27 while working as a security guard at the hospital. She was 57 years old.
State agencies should lower Washington and U.S. flags to half-staff on Oct. 15, the same day as Bass' memorial service.
Flags should remain at half-staff until the close of business or sunset on that day.
