JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Three separate shootings across Mississippi that were related to football events left multiple people injured and dead.

The first shooting, in Leland , was a mass shooting with 16 people shot.

Of those 16, four people died.

The incident was not at the high school, but on Main Street, after the school’s homecoming game.

No arrests or suspects have been announced.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation.

South Delta High School, in Rolling Fork, was also the scene of a shooting.

Two people were arrested for the shooting on Saturday morning.

The Sharkey County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident.

Two people were shot at Heidelberg High School on Friday as well.

At least one other person was injured.
