CUMMING, Ga. — Several people were trapped following a multiple-vehicle accident that shut down Georgia 400 in Forsyth County on Saturday afternoon.

The wreck happened just before Exit 15 on 400 North, according to an official with Forsyth County.

That official told 11Alive that both northbound and southbound lanes were closed after the incident, but that the southbound lanes and one northbound lane reopened after 4 p.m. All lanes were reopened on Georgia 400 near Exit 15 by around 4:40 p.m.

A med-evac helicopter was seen flying into the scene, and the interstate partially reopened after the helicopter departed for the hospital.

It remains unclear at this time how the crash occurred or the number of people injured.
