KINGSTON, N.Y. — Monroe-Woodbury High star quarterback Ethan Maldonado spent the last 12 months waiting for the chance to play Kingston again after the Tigers upset the undefeated and state-ranked Crusaders on their home turf on their homecoming night last October.

“Everybody wanted revenge,” Maldonado said after ruining Kingston’s Senior Night with a 48-14 Section 9 Class AA victory on Friday, Oct. 10 at Dietz Stadium. “All week the team talked about revenge. And tonight, we got it.”

Maldonado and his teammates certainly took their frustrations out on Kingston for last year’s upset with a dominating performance that could have been a lot worse if Monroe-Woodbury coach James Sciarra didn’t pull Maldonado after he sprinted for a 57-yard touchdown run for a 48-0 lead with 6:32 remaining i
