A woman came to the police station on Sept. 12 to report she had been scammed by a man claiming to be singer Neil Diamond.

The scammer asked the woman to buy Apple gift cards for him. The woman complied, purchasing $300 in gift cards and providing the scammer with the gift card number over the phone. The gift card had already been used by the time she approached the police, and the woman was out the money.

Officers advised the woman about scams and scam prevention.

A caller at 8:30 p.m. Sept. 14 reported a possibly intoxicated driver in a blue Kia was entering Rocky River on I-90.
