ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
The Duke City's story continues to be told by murals that continue to pop up on empty outdoor walls.
The latest, unveiled Friday by the city's Solid Waste Management Department and Keep Albuquerque Beautiful with the Working Classroom at the Bareles Community Center, was the creation of artist Haley Greenfeather, assisted by local student artists.
The mural, which shows the connection between Albuquerque and its natural surroundings, was made possible with funding from the New Mexico Tourism Department's Clean and Beautiful Grant Program.
Young artists from the nonprofit Working Classroom were instrumental in transferring the mural from concept to reality, with support from Eileen Garcia, who owns the wall that displays the mural.
