YORKTON — A rainfall warning is now in effect for parts of east-central Saskatchewan.
Environment Canada issued the advisory Oct. 11 at 3:22 p.m. Communities within 28 RMs are affected. Yorkton, Canora, Kamsack, Preeceville and Melville are among the communities in the impacted area.
"This rain will be falling ahead of a transition to snow on Sunday evening (Oct. 12). The current forecast is that the heaviest precipitation will fall as rain, triggering the rainfall warning, and then changing to snow as the bulk of the precipitation tapers off," the warning states.
The agency says there is some uncertainty in the timing of the rain to snow transition, and this warning may be changed to a snowfall warning if the transition is expected to occur earlier than what is currently forecast. As i
