AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas A&M Forest Service announced that it has raised the Wildland Fire Preparedness Level to level 3 due to current conditions.

TFS said continued hot and dry conditions, along with an increase in current and expected wildfire activity across the state, led to this decision.

Officials said they will continue to monitor the situation and remain ready to respond to any requests for assistance. For more information about the states' Preparedness Levels, visit the TFS website.
