SEA BRIGHT, N.J. -- Talk about battening down the hatches.
Prepping for the nor'easter looks a bit different for Max Lopez and his partner, Abby Rumph. The couple, along with their 5-month-old daughter, Windy, live on their sailboat.
"There's not a whole lot more we can do than we've already done [to prepare]," Lopez said.
Lopez and Rumph have lived on the boat for three years, and they've weathered storms before -- but something about this one feels different.
"Usually they just pass by you by, you have a windy period - but this one is gonna hang out for two days. That's 48 hours of 30 knots of wind -- and it's just gonna push all the water in here," Lopez said.
Plus, having a baby on board adds its own challenges.
"Now that she's starting to move, nowhere is safe pretty much," said
