NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Floods are ravaging La Plata County Saturday night. Homes are flooding, residents are evacuating, and a declaration of local disaster has been made. Video posted by the La Plata County Sheriff's Office shows a hot tub being easily moved by the rushing water.

Government officials say nearly 400 homes have been evacuated, with more expected. Emergency responders are estimating that there are over 100 homes that have water damage, some with as much as two feet of water inside.

Eleven swift water rescues have already been made. News 13 caught up with Senator Nicole Tobiassen, who has property in the area. Ring doorbell video of the street outside her home, flooded with water.
