HAMPTON, Va. — As our weather team is monitoring a significant nor'easter that will impact the area through early Monday morning, several localities in Hampton Roads are preparing for heavy rain, high winds, coastal and tidal flooding.

Heavy winds started to pick up at the James T. Wilson Fishing Pier at Buckroe Beach around 6 p.m.

But that didn't stop people from getting their last moments of fishing in Saturday night.

City officials say they are closing the pier Saturday night and into Sunday as the city of Hampton braces for hazardous impacts.

Hampton city officials say measures are in place to minimize damage that comes with potential heavy rain, gusty winds and flooding as the nor'easter affects Hampton Roads.
