Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price is facing a fresh round of criticism over comments she made about Indian migration, with a major Sydney council preparing to debate a motion demanding she publicly apologise for the "divisive and harmful" remarks.

Parramatta council, one of Sydney’s most populated and multicultural communities, will debate a motion on Monday that calls on the Northern Territory Senator to publicly apologise for questioning the voting patterns of Indian migrants.

The explosive saga first began when Senator Price suggested that there were “concerns" about Indian migrants and their voting patterns and that the Labor Party “likes to allow those (people) in… who ultimately vote for them.”
