A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the deaths of two children in Stafford.

Staffordshire Police were called to a home on Corporation Street in Stafford at 7:30am on Sunday morning by West Midlands Ambulance.

Two children were pronounced dead at the scene, said the force.

A 43-year-old woman, from the Stafford area, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.

Staffordshire Police have asked the public not to speculate at this stage as the investigation progresses.
