SHANNON COUNTY, Mo. — The Shannon County Sheriff's Office has recently announced that its central dispatch is planned to go live this week.
According to the sheriff's office's social media post, the Shannon County Central Dispatch is tentatively scheduled to be open at the end of this week.
The post indicates that this is the first time that the county has been 911-capable, which will allow residents to get quicker response times for emergency services.
"This is a historic moment for Shannon County," Sheriff Steven Hogan said in the post. "Becoming 911-capable brings us up to modern standards and ensures our citizens have direct, immediate access to help when they need it most. It’s a reflection of the cleanup, progress, and dedication happening across our county operations."
