A young Aberdeen woman has opened up on the excruciating pain she endured living with endometriosis with no formal diagnosis for seven years.

Poppy Harris knew something was seriously wrong when she had her first period at age 13, which brought pain so intense and bleeding so heavy that she soaked through a thick pad, her tights, and her school skirt in under an hour.

Now 20, Poppy explained, "I just remember being in so much pain and thinking, surely this isn’t for the rest of my life.”

Her first hospital call came shortly after, but it was not until 2025 that she received an official diagnosis . Seven years of uncertainty, repeated appointments, and dismissal followed, with Poppy saying “it just felt like nobody believed [her]".
