A trial date has been set for an Emporia man charged with second-degree murder. Alexei Perez-Ricardo, 36, was charged with a single count of Intentional Murder in the Second Degree, Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Aggravated Robbery, associated with the murder of Adolfo Callejo Viniegra, 57. During his preliminary hearing on Friday, an additional charge of aggravated weapons violation by a felon.

Callejo Viniegra was originally identified as 62-year-old Raul Rosado Reyes, an alias which he had been living under in Emporia since the early 2000s. Callejo Viniegra was discovered deceased by the Emporia Police Department at his home in the 200 block of W. 10th Ave. on the morning of May 25.
