ADRIAN, N.D. (Valley News Live) - A late-night return home turned into a startling wildlife encounter for an Adrian, North Dakota, man who captured the incident on camera.

Steve Ost found a coyote in his garage, leading to a confrontation with his three dogs.

Ost said he arrived home late after a race in Aberdeen and went to check on his dogs. He had left his garage door open for the dogs since he was going to be gone for a long time.

“I should have grabbed the gun first. My first idea was, ‘I’ve got to get the phone out and record this or no one is going to believe me,’” Ost recounted.

He entered his garage, located south of Jamestown, at 12:30 a.m. without turning on the lights.
