BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - A legislative committee will meet in Bismarck as the state Department of Health and Human Services prepares its application for special federal grant funding.
States have until November 5 to apply for the Rural Health Transformation Program, which passed through the Big Beautiful Bill. North Dakota is expected to receive at least $100 million over five years.
Senator Brad Bekkedahl, who chairs the Rural Health Transformation Committee, says lawmakers will spend Tuesday and Wednesday learning more about the program and how those dollars can be used.
“We want to use it for one-time purchases, capital purchases are allowed, and how we can enhance programs that are already there,” said Bekkedahl.
