GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KUMV) - Grand Forks is set to host the 19th Annual Unmanned Aerial Systems Summit this week.

The event brings drone leaders and industry experts to discuss the latest in UAS technology for both commercial and military operations.

Matt Dunlevy, the President of the North Dakota UAS Council, says he expects to hear a few surprises during the summit.

He says the summit is an opportunity to show the industry how North Dakota is a prime location for drone research and development.

“It’s not about keeping up with the Joneses but also seeing where the new innovations and technology are, to hear new policy, and see some of the new research breakthroughs. Everything UAS, all things unmanned, and all things autonomous. It’s going to be a great year,” said Dunlevy.
