George Springer, who has hit 63 career home runs to lead off a regular season game, second only to Rickey Henderson’s 81, blasted the first pitch he saw in Sunday’s ALCS opener against the Seattle Mariners into the seats. It was the second time Springer has gone deep to begin a playoff game, but his first with these stakes as a Blue Jay. Springer also holds the team record of 24 in the regular season, two more than Devon White and nine more than Shannon Stewart.
