A coronial inquest has heard that a prisoner who died in custody in Australia's largest prison was left for 21 hours without physical observation, despite telling staff he had previously had seizures while withdrawing from alcohol.
Dictor Dongrin, 29, was found unresponsive on June 13, 2022 in an observation cell in the male maximum security medical unit of the Clarence Correctional Centre (CCC) just outside Grafton on the New South Wales north coast.
Dongrin and his brother Taban had been arrested after a drunken altercation at their parents' house in Coffs Harbour on the night of June 11 and were taken to CCC the next day.
