A suspect is in custody following a pursuit involving them and several California Highway Patrol officers.

According to CHP, officers from the Baldwin Park Station originally tried to stop a motorist for driving through a closure – possibly for Caltrans construction – just before 11:15 p.m. Sunday on the 605 Freeway near Whittier.

“The suspect failed to yield and a pursuit was initiated,” a CHP spokesperson confirmed. “The suspect took several freeways, traveling eastbound, and the pursuit eventually came to an end near Foothill Boulevard and Glendora Avenue in Glendora.”

That location is about 20 miles from where the chase was said to have began.

The suspect, who was not identified, was taken into custody without further incident about 20 minutes after the pursuit was initiated.
