SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA (KPLC) - Burn bans have been issued in some parishes in Southwest Louisiana due to dry conditions and high winds.
Bans are currently in place in the following parishes:
Allen (issued Oct. 14)
Beauregard (issued Oct. 13)
Jeff Davis (issued Oct. 16).
The following parishes have lifted their burn bans:
Vernon (lifted Oct. 27)
Calcasieu (lifted Oct. 27).
The bans prohibit open-air burning of any trash, garbage, leaves, limbs, branches, or debris of any kind. The use of small, manufactured fire pits or personal, regulated outdoor cooking equipment on private property is allowed.
The orders do not apply to prescribed burns by the Department of Agriculture and Forestry.
