The Coronado Islanders girls’ volleyball program is currently in the midst of its most pivotal part of the 2025 season—Western League play.
However, last week the Islanders did receive a bit of a break from one of the most challenging leagues in San Diego County. On Wednesday, the Islanders hosted Scripps Ranch High School.
Coming into Wednesday’s game, the visiting Scripps Ranch came in winners of 11 of their last 12 matches. Even still, the red-hot falcons were no match for Coronado as the Islanders rolled Scripps Ranch 3-0 in sets, 25-19, 25-12, 26-24.
As an attack, the Islanders received key contributions from several of their players. Junior Savannah Browning logged seven kills in the win. Second most for Coronado in the win.
