PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WATE) — After being named interim in July, Josh Carr has been officially appointed as the Pigeon Forge Fire Department's fire chief.
Carr started as a volunteer with the department and rose through the ranks. Before being named chief, he was a battalion chief. City Manager David Wear praised his leadership skills and dedication to the community.
"For the past several months, Josh has served as Interim Fire Chief, leading with integrity, professionalism, and a clear vision for the future. His readiness to step up when called upon, along with the tremendous support from those who have worked alongside him, has not gone unnoticed. Josh has undeniably proven himself as a capable and effective leader in this role," wrote Wear.
The previous fire chief, Tony Watson, retire
