TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The Tucson Fire Department responded to a fourth swift water rescue in the Rillito River on Sunday night.

Around 10:17 p.m. on Oct. 12, TFD was dispatched to a swift water rescue at North Camino de La Tierra and Tres Nogales Road.

The first unit on the scene reported water reaching the door of a Camaro, with the driver on the roof as water entered the vehicle, TFD said.

Tucson Fire crews, along with Northwest Fire and Golder Ranch Fire Districts, staged on both sides of the river, according to officials. The Technical Rescue Team used Ladder 4 to safely guide the driver out of the river.

On Sunday, TFD said they responded to eight swift water rescues and nine stranded calls. With wet conditions expected on Monday, officials urge the public to avoid flooded roads
