KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Fire Department said its determined the cause of a fire at Spring Meadows Apartments in North Knoxville that injured one person Monday night.
KFD said unattended cooking on a stovetop was determined to be the cause of the fire. The injured person sent to the hospital by AMR EMS.
According to a release from KFD, crews responded around 5 p.m., with the person who called it in saying someone was possibly trapped inside.
"Crews reported they were assisting a male who was injured in the apartment," KFD said. "The Injured male was transferred to additional KFD crews and an AMR ambulance crew.'
