Motorists traveling through Northampton County will encounter significant lane restrictions and delays beginning Tuesday, as PennDOT begins more than a dozen maintenance and inspection projects across the region.

The work will affect major roadways including Route 22,. Additional work is planned for Routes 412, 248, and 378. A stretch of Interstate 78 is also targeted.

Most projects are scheduled to run during daytime hours from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Most of the work will be performed by PennDOT maintenance crews.

The most extensive project will take place on Interstate 78 between Exit 71 and Exit 75, where PennDOT contractors will perform concrete patching work from Tuesday through Saturday. This project differs from others as it will operate during nighttime hours from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
