SPRING ARBOR TOWNSHIP, MI – Two Michigan State Police troopers can be seen using a floor jack to free a distressed deer trapped in a residential iron fence in a new video posted Monday by the MSP’s First District .

Troopers from the agency’s Jackson post were called to a home in the 3600 block of Spring Arbor Road in Jackson County for a report of the deer trapped in the fence.

Residences along that section of roadway are surrounded by clusters of trees and close to a few open fields.

The video, which is just over a minute long, shows one trooper placing a coat over the deer’s head to calm the struggling animal.

Then, both officials briefly deliberate how to free the deer before settling on the floor jack from an array of equipment in the back of a police vehicle.
