CORVALLIS Ore. (KPTV) - The Oregon State Beavers officially introduced interim coach Robb Akey on Monday, as a nationwide search for their next head coach has begun.

Trent Bray was fired Sunday , one day after the Beavers’ loss to Wake Forest dropped them to 0-7 on the season - their worst start since 1991.

Bray, a former linebacker at OSU, was in his second season at the helm of the program after serving as an assistant under predecessor Jonathan Smith - who left for Michigan State after the 2023 season.

Beavers Athletic Director Scott Barnes addressed the situation at a press conference Monday.
