CALAIS, Vt. (WCAX) - Some men took their clothes off in Calais on this day in history.

A dozen residents bared all on October 14, 2001, for a calendar called “The Men of Maple Corner.”

The idea was that the tasteful nudes would attract enough attention to raise $30,000 for the town community center.

The novel fundraiser gained national attention, and the calendars sold like hotcakes, raising over half a million dollars.
