While there've been fun things to do all throughout October in the Sarasota area , the month's biggest holiday is Halloween, and you'll find plenty of ways to celebrate locally, from family-friendly events to adult parties.

Some festivities are already taking place, including a Halloween-themed light show, while this weekend will bring the return of more events such as a Charlotte County celebration with haunted houses.
