Covid five-day warning as two variants are dominant in UK View Image

The NHS has issued a five-day Covid advisory in an effort to limit the spread of the virus. The most recent data from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) indicates a rise in coronavirus cases in hospitals across England.

Experts have noted that the XFG variant, also known as Stratus, is currently the dominant strain. In recent weeks, the NB.1.8. 1 variant, referred to as Nimbus, has also been spreading widely. In a recent update , the UKHSA warned that these strains could cause symptoms such as a hoarse voice or an unusually painful sore throat, along with other typical Covid symptoms.
