CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- Corning’s famous glassmaking roots are getting ready to take center stage once again during Days of Incandescence . This three-day celebration fuses local history, artistry, and a hint of Halloween mystery.

The event, running October 23 through October 25 along Corning’s historic Market Street, dives into the story of the “mysterious shop boy” who helped create the first light bulb for Thomas Edison.

“It’s actually rooted in world history that happened right here in Corning,” said Dave DeGolyer with Explore Steuben. “We built this entire event around that story, blending local legend, history, and a little bit of supernatural fun.”
