The price of development in Sarnia could be falling soon.

City development charges on new construction help cover municipal costs for infrastructure, such as roads and sewers, needed to support new development.

Sarnia council will consider next month a staff recommendation to cut fees by 17 per cent in Development Area 2, a 570-hectare (1,408-acre) area between London and Confederation lines, and Modeland and Blackwell Side roads set for significant development, and about 12 per cent elsewhere, a city report says.
